Size Guide

Throughout the decades and within various countries, garments have been sized in many different ways and as a result it's often hard to compare sizes without measuring. One size 12 might be smaller than another size 10 and we often find that vintage clothes have no sizing label at all.

At Vintage Generation, we take the time to measure each and every item in order to give out customers the information they require to enable them to make a decision as to whether or not to purchase. Where appropriate we give measurements in length, arms, chest, waist and inside leg. We measure length from collar to the bottom of the garment, arms from the underarm to the end of the cuff, and chest around the garment between the underarms

We also give our opinion on the size of each item by today's standards. Please note that this is indicative only and we recommend that you should rely on measurements rather than the estimated size.

Of course, you can always rest assured that should something not fit as expected, you can make use of The Vintage Generations 100% no quibble returns policy.

Condition Guide

Each item is also graded with a condition to help you understand the quality of the garment, as follows:

Mint - An item is as perfect and pristine as when it was originally made and shows no sign of wear (mint condition is rare for vintage clothing)

Excellent - An item shows only the slightest signs of wear

Very Good - An item shows typical signs of wear due to occasional use

Good - An item is considered wearable but has some surface flaws (minor staining or soiling, for example)

Branding

We may state in some cases in the description of an item what the brand or designer is. We take this information purely from the labels and logos present on the garment and can give no guarantees as to the authenticity of the product
